The Sam's Club at Tulsa Hills was evacuated Sunday afternoon due to a bomb threat. The store was reopened after police investigated.
Police said a man called in and threatened to explode a device inside the store.
News On 6 received several calls and messages from citizens who saw the large police presence at the shopping center. Some patrol cars blocked the entrances to the parking lot, but many of the patrol units left around 2:15 p.m.
A news release states management and Tulsa Police did a "cursory search" before deciding to let employees back into the store for a closer inspection.
Employees stood outside in the parking lot with officers before being let back into the building. Many customers also waited until they could return to their shopping.
Police said no device was ever found. No injuries were reported.
