A powerful storm system is racing through Green Country Sunday evening.
Meteorologist Mike Grogan said while severe weather is not anticipated, strong winds, lightning and briefly heavy downpours are possible through 9 p.m.
A narrow line of showers and storms will continue to race eastward, impacting the Tulsa area as early as 5 p.m. Wind gusts along that line could exceed 50 mph at times.
The winds will diminish once this line passes with cooler, drier air seeping into the region later Sunday night. A Wind Advisory has been posted until 7 p.m. for the strong winds associated with the storm system as a whole.
