People swiping packages off porches and mail out of mailboxes, it's happening all over Tulsa.
"I still get sick to my stomach when I see it,” said Tulsa resident Lori Hamilton-Hobbs.
On Thursday, a video taken in the Southern Hills neighborhood and posted to the Tulsa Midtown Alert Neighbors Facebook page shows a car stopping outside a house, a woman running up to the porch, then running away with a package in hand.
Over in the Forest Oaks neighborhood, Hamilton-Hobbs captured something similar.
"I'm going to go to my cameras,” Hamilton-Hobbs stated. “I got him, I got him."
A neighbor had come home and “they saw mail in the street,” said Hamilton-Hobbs. "She went over to open her mailbox and found nothing… and started looking at all the mail, of it ripped up, and then started putting everything together."
Hamilton-Hobbs checked her cameras and found a person walking a dog, going from mailbox to mailbox, appearing to take mail.
It was concerning to Hamilton-Hobbs how brazen the apparent mail thief looked, ping-ponging from one mailbox to the other in broad daylight with a dog by their side, just casually strolling down the street.
Hamilton-Hobbs also spotted a Black SUV backing-up down the street before going from mailbox to mailbox.
"He went over to Paul's and then mine, and the guy on the passenger side threw something out into the street," she recalled.
Hamilton-Hobbs contacted police and the post office but hopes you can stop this from happening.
"If we can get it out there because this is kind of an MO for these people,” she said.
She hopes that if you see something that looks similar, you'll think twice and contact police.
"Be aware, because maybe there is a black SUV," she said.
