Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers stopped a pickup truck heading the wrong way on Interstate 44 in Tulsa Friday morning.

Troopers began chasing the pickup which was headed west in the eastbound lanes at about 7 a.m. The OHP said the driver got onto the highway at Harvard.

Other drivers called 911 and troopers stopped the pickup near Elwood.

The incident backed up eastbound traffic for several miles.

The OHP says troopers took the driver into custody. Troopers believe the man might have had a medical condition that led to him becoming disoriented.
