A former Bristow English teacher is in jail Thursday after being arrested on several charges, including second-degree rape.
Christopher Bivins, 24, resigned from his job just hours before his arrest.
Bivins was an English teacher at the high school.
Police say Monday was the first time they were contacted about his alleged actions.
OSBI says the Creek County District Attorney and Bristow Police spoke with them on Monday.
“That a school teacher at the Bristow High School was having sexual contact with one of the students there,” stated OSBI spokesperson Jessica Brown.
Brown says after an investigation an agent went to arrest Bivins.
“He did actually resign from his position there just hours before the OSBI special agent made an arrest," said Brown.
Bristow superintendent Curtis Shelton says Bivins turned in his resignation on Wednesday, the last time he's had contact with the district.
In a statement to News On 6, Shelton says in part quote: "As a district, we are always concerned for the safety of our students and staff members. Bristow Public Schools will cooperate with the OSBI during the course of their investigation and assist in any way possible."
Brown added, "the teacher's cell phone was confiscated."
On it, officers say they found enough evidence to charge Bivins.
"We were able to find numerous pictures and texts,” said Brown. “Pictures actually of child pornography and production of child pornography."
Bivins has been charged with second-degree rape, sexual battery, possession of child pornography, and production of child pornography.
Police say the investigation, so far, shows the sexual conduct was isolated to one student.
Police say even though they have an arrest, the investigation is ongoing. They ask that any parents or students with information to contact police.
