A storm system arrives tonight bringing a chance for cold rain to eastern Oklahoma. For Friday afternoon and most of Friday evening, rain will stay west of I-35 but continue to expand eastward in coverage.
A few showers could break out ahead of the main batch and impact a few folks early tonight. As the rain moves into eastern Oklahoma, it will run into drier air so showers are expected to weaken but still impact the area Friday night and Saturday morning.
Get ready for another surge of rain Saturday afternoon and evening. Higher rainfall amounts will be across southeastern Oklahoma where some locations could see around 1” of rain. Most folks see less than half an inch.
This system will bring more rain to the southern half of the state but we’ll have another chance to on Monday as the main upper level energy swings by. Chances are Monday are best for location east of Highway 75.
After this cold rain-maker moves off to the east, we will have a chance for some much colder air to move south and into the state. Wind chill values will be in teens Thursday morning.
