Tulsa Police: Man Douses Ex-Girlfriend With Lighter Fluid

Tulsa police say a woman's estranged boyfriend broke into her home and poured lighter fluid on her as she slept. The victim's son was able to fight the man off, according to Tulsa Police.

Officers were sent to the 700 block of South St. Louis just before 4 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2016, after someone reported a domestic disturbance with shots fired. They learned a woman was sleeping when her ex-boyfriend entered the home, doused her with lighter fluid and started dragging her around.

The man was armed and threatened her to kill her, officers said. They said the woman's son woke up and struggled with the ex-boyfriend who fired a shot as he ran off. No one was injured by the gunfire, according to police.

The man was gone by the time officers arrived, and they are not releasing his name at this time. Police said the investigation is ongoing.
