100+ MPH Chase Ends With Crash Near Vera

A chase ended with a crash on a rural road east of Vera Monday afternoon.

An Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper was chasing an SUV with a man and woman inside when the SUV crashed on 390 Road at NS 4010 Road. Locals call 390 Road Vera Road and NS 4010 is Mingo Road. 

The chase began on Highway 169 at about 4:30 p.m. with the trooper reporting he was exceeding 100 miles per hour. The suspect vehicle was heading south on the highway, then got off 169 onto side roads.

The trooper reported the SUV was traveling more than 120 miles per hour northbound on Mingo Road just moments before it crashed.

The crash ejected the woman, but she did not appear to be badly injured in video from Osage SkyNews 6 HD. The man ran off, with troopers calling in help from Collinsville Police and the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
