A Skiatook man pleaded guilty Thursday to stabbing his sister to death and a judge sentenced him to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Michael Devin Stanley was 19 when he stabbed his sister, Larisa Fraley, 16, back on January 28, 2014.

Prosecutors said he had stabbed to death his great grandmother, 71-year-old Esther Driskell, the day before.

A family friend found Driskell's body in her Skiatook home. The next morning investigators found Fraley's body in an abandoned van in rural Osage County.

Because Driskell's body was found in Tulsa County, Stanley was charged with her murder there. Because Fraley's body was found in Osage County, he was charged with her murder in that county.

The Tulsa County murder case against Stanley was put on hold while his case in Osage County moved forward.

In sentencing Stanley, 22, on Thursday, the judge ordered Stanley's sentence to run concurrently with whatever punishment he receives if he's convicted in the Tulsa County murder case.

Neighbors told News On 6 at the time that Driskell devoted her life to taking care of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Prosecutors said Fraley and Stanley were living with Driskell at the time of the murders.
