Skateboarding Broken Arrow Student Hit By Car Dies

A Broken Arrow student hit by a car while riding a skateboard Wednesday has died of her injuries. 

The 14-year-old girl was hit shortly after 7 a.m. on November 2, 2016, in the 1200 block of South Main Street.

Police said she was southbound on the street when she was hit from behind by a car near the center of the street.

She was taken to the hospital in critical condition after the collision then was later pronounced dead.

Her half sister told News On 6 the girl loved skate boarding, gaming, drawing and music.

A witness told police the girl was riding her skateboard in the center of the street, a news release states.

Police said it doesn't appear the driver was speeding and they did not give her a ticket.
