Police are asking people who were at the crime scene when a Tulsa woman was stabbed to death Thursday morning to come forward. Authorities say Reginald Lyke, 37, fatally stabbed a woman at the Comanche Park Apartments just after 10 a.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2016.

Police need to interview witnesses that were present "as we seek the truth as to what occurred inside the murder scene," Homicide Sergeant Dave Walker said in a news release Thursday.

Walker said they have learned Lyke and the victim were together "smoking some type of drug" in an apartment.

"We are not sure if it was marijuana or methamphetamine as no drugs were recovered from the murder scene," he said.

An arrest report says Lyke knew the victim and admitted to police he was with her before the stabbing - but denied any involvement in the crime. A witness told officers Lyke went to another apartment after the stabbing, rolled a marijuana cigarette and said he didn't mean to do it.

Walker said they found several pieces of evidence inside that second apartment that should link Lyke to the woman's murder. Records show Lyke has a criminal history and was on parole for an arson conviction.

Anyone who has information that can help police in the investigation of Tulsa's 63rd murder of 2016 is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 918-596-COPS or the Homicide Tip Line at 918-798-8477.
