Muskogee's county commissioners will be making cuts to their budget for next year.
The county commissioners voted to cut $250,000 from their operating fund and $400,000 from the sheriff's budget.
Commissioner Ken Doke said the focus for 2017 is to be responsible and give the taxpayers a balanced county budget.
"We've been spending into deficit since 2008. So, we have a couple of commissioners now who wants to balance the budget, and so and we're going to try to make that happen," he said.
Doke said the budget cuts shouldn't affect any county jobs.
