Work is underway at the Dick Conner Correctional Center in Hominy to produce Oklahoma's newly-redesigned license plates.
The corrections tag shop typically produces about 900,000 plates each year.
But, because every Oklahoma vehicle must be re-issued with a new tag next year, crews are stepping up production to about 17,000 per day.
The goal is to produce about four million of the new plates in three months - that's 1,500 tags per hour.
