McAlester Department Of Public Safety Adjusts Operation Hours Due To Budget

Oklahoma's economy in crisis is forcing the Department of Public Safety to close its office in McAlester two days a week.

Starting October 3, 2016, the office will only be open on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

The public safety commissioner blames the nearly 12-percent cut to the department's budget.

The office in Poteau will be only be open on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
