Hartshorne Mayor Resigns Amid FBI Investigation Into City Finances

The Mayor of Hartshorne has stepped down as the FBI looks into the city's finances.

The McAlester News-Capital reports Carolyn Jo Trueblood delivered a one-sentence letter to city hall Wednesday, stating that she's retiring and resigning as mayor.

The newspaper said its investigation revealed someone used city credit cards to buy personal items but it's not publicly known who might have made the purchases.
