Two women were killed early Sunday morning after their Jeep was struck head-on by a Hummer after it crossed the center line west of Ada in Pontotoc County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol said.
Just before 5 a.m. Sunday, the 2003 Hummer was traveling eastbound on State Highway 3E and the 2015 Jeep Renegade was traveling westbound on the same highway when the Hummer went left of center and struck the Jeep, the OHP said.
The Jeep was driven by Brooke L. Trotter, 34, and her passengers were Becky N. Trotter, 29, and Jauquetta I. Trotter, 61. All three women are from Antlers.
Brooke L. Trotter and Becky N. Trotter were pronounced dead at the scene, the collision report states.
Jauquetta I. Trotter was transported via Mercy EMS to Chickasaw Medical Center in Ada, but was later transported by Air-Evac to OU Medical Center in Oklahoma City with a leg injury but is stable, the report said.
The driver of the Hummer was Shawn T. Jones, 33, of Pauls Valley, and his passengers were Nicholas D. Rowan, 44, of Pauls Valley and Jason E. Stewart, 27, of Idabel. All three were uninjured, according to the OHP.
All six were wearing seatbelts, and the roadway was wet, the collision report stated.
The conditions of both drivers are being investigated.
