Tulsa Police said a man was wounded at a Tulsa motel Sunday morning. The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a gunshot wound to the chest, police said.
The shooting took place in the parking lot of the Delux Inn at 27th and Memorial around 6:40 a.m. The suspect left the motel parking lot going north, according to Corporal Patrick McLean.
"As far as we can tell, the victim was shot one time in the chest - the bullet went through," McLean said.
The man who was shot told police the suspect was trying to rob him. He also said the suspect was from a room at the Inn, the officer said.
Police weren't sure if the shooter left in a car or on foot. They did not have a good description of him.
People heard "a commotion" and one shot, McLean told News On 6. They hadn't found anyone who saw anything.
"The investigation is ongoing; we're still looking for evidence," he said. They have found one shell casing outside near the front office, and one live round was found in one of the rooms.
