A truck drove off Highway 75 Saturday afternoon and fell onto the Interstate 44 access road below, closing both the highway and interstate for nearly an hour.
A Tulsa Fire Department official said a truck was driving south on Highway 75 when - for unknown reasons - it swerved, smashed through the guard rail and fell onto the eastbound lanes of I-44.
The truck finally came to rest in the service road next to the highway before bursting into flames.
Just seconds after the truck crash. two other cars collided in a separate incident. Authorities said one of the cars left and it is now being investigated as a hit-and-run.
Some people were checked out by EMSA at the scene but had no injuries.
The driver of the truck only suffered minor injuries and was taken to the hospital as a precaution.
"(The) truck driver was by himself and just got out right as it had engulfed in flames according to his testimony," TPD District Chief Kelly Kaiser said.
