Police: Two Tulsa Toddlers Found Wandering Outside

Tulsa Police say a woman found two toddlers wandering outside near 28th Street North and Martin Luther King Boulevard early Tuesday.

Police started knocking on doors to locate the children's home.  A short time later, police learned the children's mother had dropped the boy and girl off at a babysitter in the 200 block of East 27th Court North and then headed to work. 

Police contacted the babysitter and the mother.  They said the babysitter told them she had put the two children to bed and went to sleep.  Police say the toddlers got up, opened the front door and left. 

Officers say both children appeared to be fine and were returned to their mother.

Police say they are now referring the matter to the Department of Human Services for a follow-up investigation.
