Tulsa police are investigating an early morning shooting as a possible "stand your ground" case, according to Sergeant Dave Walker. Police said someone called them just before 2 a.m. Sunday, September 11, 2016, after hearing a woman yelling about her husband being shot.
At last check, the wounded man was in critical condition, but police believe he will recover.
Tulsa police say EMSA found the man lying in a yard near Denver and Pine, and he was taken to the hospital. Investigators said shooting took place at a home just a block away on North Cheyenne Avenue.
They said the man living there called 911 to say he'd shot someone in his home.
Walker said right now it seems the victim walked into that house and the homeowner shot him, but police are still looking for answers.
"We're going to have to try to piece that together. There are too many different stories going on to make any sense," he said.
