A Creek County lake is getting a makeover that will help with flood control.
Sapulpa's City Council recently approved the extra funds to repair and improve Sahoma Lake's dam and spillway.
City taxpayers originally approved a $1.2 million bond package for the project in 2012, but the rising cost of concrete put a halt to the work. City officials say the council has now approved $780,000 to pay the increase costs of the project from the city's water resources fund.
Work is expected to resume on the project sometime in mid-September.
