The Rogers County Sheriff’s Office deputies were involved in a shooting just west of Oologah early Sunday evening.

Sheriff Scott Walton told News On 6 reporter Marty Kasper they were called to the location at 4066 Rd. just south of 380 Rd. for someone that was for someone that was violating a protective order.

Deputies say they arrived and found a man in a white pickup. They say from a distance they could see at least two long guns in the truck.

Once they got closer, they say they saw a pistol in the man’s hand and a deputy then fired one shot. It went through the door of the truck and the man was injured in the arm, according to officers.

At this time, police say it is not clear if the injury was caused by the bullet or by shrapnel caused by the bullet and that the injury is very minor.

The man will likely be arrested, according to police.

OSBI will investigate this matter.
