Heating Up This Week

Good morning. We’re back to the heat this week. Heat index values will be nearing 100 to 104 today.   Any storms will be highly isolated.   Temps this morning will start in the upper 70s with muggy conditions. Highs this afternoon will be in the mid to upper 90s.  

While we can’t rule out a few widely scattered to isolated storms each afternoon the coverage will be extremely low and mainly confined to extreme eastern OK and western Arkansas.  

Lows in the upper 70s with highs in the upper 90s today and tomorrow should be followed by lows near 80 and highs around 100 to 102 Wednesday through at least Friday and possibly this weekend.  Most data support an increase in low level moisture by the end of the week and this could crank the heat index numbers back into the 107 to 110 range.
