The City of Sand Springs says a new restaurant is coming to its RiverWest Development.
According to a news release, construction will begin on El Maguey Mexican Restaurant next month.
El Maguey has been doing business in Sand Springs for 14 years. It's owned by the Ayala family and has restaurants in Oklahoma and Kansas.
“The city is pleased to partner with the Ayala family as they grow their thriving Sand Springs business,” said Sand Springs Mayor Mike Burge. “This expansion is not just a move in location, but an upgrade that gives Sand Springs citizens the type of dining atmosphere they have been craving.”
“We are proud to be a part of this community and are moving to a new location to better serve our loving customers,” said owners Norma and Roy Ayala. "We are excited that our new restaurant will also feature the addition of patio dining.”
The current restaurant is located north of the Sand Springs Expressway west of Adams Road. The new location is several blocks west and to the south of the expressway.
The RiverWest property was purchased with Vision 2025 funds. The 30-acre development is bordered by the Sand Springs Expressway, Morrow Road, Main Street and Wilson Avenue.
El Maguey will join Starbucks, Holiday Inn Express, IHOP Restaurant, CVS Pharmacy and O'Reilly Auto Parts store which are already open.
