Prosecutors filed murder charges against a man police saw shot and killed a passenger in a car last month.

The suspect is Marcus Boyd, 27.  Police say he shot and killed Daniel Carter, 17, on June 28, 2016.

6/28/2016 Tulsa Homicide Detectives Investigate Reported Shooting

Boyd faces charges of first-degree murder, shooting with intent to kill and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

Police say Boyd shot at the car Carter was riding in in the 2000 block of North Madison. The driver lost control of the car and it crashed. 

Bullets hit both Carter and a 16-year-old girl sitting in the back seat, according to police. The girl survived.

Police said at first they could find no connection between Boyd and the people in the car but eventually discovered a relationship between Boyd and more than one person in the vehicle.
