Owasso Teen Shows Support For Police With Eagle Scout Project

Brady Eisinger knew one thing for sure; he wanted to make something for the police department.

A city official suggested building barricades for the officers' firing range, a perfect fit for Brady.

"First off, I like building with my hands, and just 'cause it helps out the police," said Eisinger.

Eisinger says he and his mom, a math teacher, designed the barricades themselves.

A local company donated all of the plywood, and Eisinger raised funds for the hardware. Then, he got to work, putting in about 100 man hours to build all four walls.

“It was actually late one night, and we had finally finished it up,” Eisinger recalled. “And I just looked at it all and was so happy I was finally able to be done with it."

Deputy Chief Jason Woodruff says officers will use the barricades during training, including them in obstacle courses and shooter scenarios.

He says the department appreciates the gift but is even more touched by Brady's support.

"A good young man like this that chooses to dedicate his time to build something for us to show his support for the police department, that's always going to be, if not appreciated more, at least as much as whatever he actually built for us," said Chief Woodruff.

“Lately, we've been seeing all the things in the news, and it's just another cause to let them know there are people out there that appreciate what they do," said Eisinger.

Brady will start college this fall at Brigham Young University - Idaho.
