Mayes County Man Arrested For Child Sexual Abuse, Lewd Molestation

Mayes County deputies arrested a man accused of child sexual abuse and lewd molestation.

Deputies walked James Leroy Wilson Jr. into the Mayes County jail Monday.

Based on the initial findings, investigators believe the suspect may have sexually assaulted children between nine and 13 years old.

Some of the cases may have happened six years ago.

Several more interviews need to be conducted before more charges are brought.

"We're still further in our investigation. We think this is just the start of our investigation. As it unfolds, I believe, basically, there could be numerous victims," said Rod Howell with Mayes County Sheriff’s Office.

Investigators say cases like this show why it's so important for parents and children to have an open line of communication.
