A Coweta building collapsed during an early morning storm Sunday. Firefighters believe the building was vacant, but they ran a search and rescue dog through the rubble to make sure.
One firefighter told News On 6 they heard the old Otasco building collapse just before 8 a.m. but thought it was more thunder. Someone from the Green Parrot Cafe called to report the building had come down.
The building is located on Main Street and has been the site of several businesses after Otasco closed. It was currently vacant.
Authorities said they don't know what caused the building to collapse. A witness speculated there was too much rain on the roof, but that has not been confirmed.
