Police arrested a man they say held a co-worker against her will with a butcher knife at an east Tulsa motel early Friday.

Officers were called to the Motel 6 in the 1000 block of North Garnett just after 4 a.m. about a disturbance in one of the rooms.

The victim called police telling them she was in a room with a co-worker who was holding a knife and was refusing to leave. Police said the man, identified as Matthew Clark, told officers he would stab the victim if they entered the room. Officers forced their way inside, scuffled with Clark and took him into custody.

Police say they recovered the knife and the victim was not seriously injured.

They booked Matthew Clark into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of kidnapping and assault with a deadly weapon. Jail records show he is being held on a $55,000 bond with a court appearance set for June 10.
