A few folks in Green Country woke up to lightning and thunder this morning. You could say that is a precursor to our chances for showers and storms this afternoon.

While scattered storms start to develop early this afternoon, additional showers and storms from northwestern Oklahoma will be trying to move in. Locations north and west of Tulsa have better chances of seeing afternoon storms.

The potential is there for a few strong storms to occur.

Tonight, a cluster of storms in the panhandle of Oklahoma should develop and those will try to move southeast. The strongest storms will stay in western Oklahoma, but a batch late this evening could move far enough east and impact Green Country residents.

After that, most of tonight will be dry until more shower chances arrive for Monday morning. Memorial Day has a chance for afternoon and evening thunderstorms.

If you have outdoor plans for today and Memorial Day stay alert for nearby storms.
