Coweta firefighters say lightning caused a house to go up in flames near 111th and 209th East Avenue. Firefighters say lightning hit the home around 2 a.m. Wednesday, setting it on fire.
Four people were inside the home at the time but were able to get out safely. Firefighters say they'll have to find another place to stay this morning, and they'll likely have to shut off all the utilities.
Crews remained on scene for some time, monitoring hot spots. Broken Arrow firefighters assisted Coweta with the house fire.
There was a lot of lightning in that area due to storms overnight. Coweta Fire says they had another lightning strike at a house, as well, but that one did not start a fire.
