A Claremore man was sentenced to life in prison without parole plus 20 years for raping and molesting a young girl, according to the Rogers County District Attorney's Office.
Gary Dumont Riggs, 71, was sentenced after being found guilty in March to three counts of first-degree rape and a count of lewd molestation. Prosecutors say he abused the girl for more than two years, starting when she was 12.

His victim and two other alleged victims testified against him during the trial.
“Unfortunately Riggs left us no choice but to put his victim on the stand to testify. In doing so he took no responsibility but did seize the chance to victimize her all over again by making her relive the rapes and other sexual abuse he did to the child," said Assistant District Attorney Zach Cabell.
A Rogers County judge followed a jury's recommendation for the life sentences. He will serve them concurrently and the 20 years consecutive to life.
