The Heritage Hall baseball team beat Berryhill, 2-1, to become the 4A state champion Saturday evening.
Scoring Summary
Greyson Wilson hit a slow roller up the middle, but Berryhill didn’t make the play at second base, allowing a run to score, giving the Chargers a 1-0 lead.
Heritage Hall increased its lead 2-1 in the sixth inning.
The Chiefs threatened with the bases loaded, but Trey Walker hit a chopper to third base to end the threat.
By the seventh inning, the score remained the same. It was the last chance for the Chiefs to tie the game or take the lead.
With the game on the line, Alex Fisher hit a sharp one-hopper to shortstop accounting for the final out.
