Oklahoma Highway Patrol troopers used an iPad left in a stolen car to track the car thieves to west Tulsa. Public Information Office Dwight Durant said the white Nissan Altima was reported stolen from the Churchill Park subdivision near 117th and Elwood.

The owner called authorities to tell them of the iPad in the vehicle, and it pinged at an address near 37th Street South and 29th West Avenue, Durant said.

A trooper rolled by the home and spotted the car, along with a man looking under the hood. Durant said the man got in and tried to drive away while saying, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry."

OHP found a Lincoln Navigator at the same address that had been reported stolen in Broken Arrow. The man was also reportedly wearing a pair of Nike sneakers with the anti-theft device still attached.

The man was taken into custody, and authorities are getting a search warrant for the home.
