Elementary School Coach Is Tulsa Teacher Of The Year

Coach Robert Kaiser is Tulsa Public Schools Teacher of the Year. Kaiser teaches at Cooper Elementary School. 

Tulsa Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Deborah Gist announced the 2016 award at a school assembly Tuesday.  She introduced Kaiser as a man who helped students make healthy choices and maximize their school experience.

Kaiser is a physical education teacher and basketball coach at Cooper. 

It was a surprise announcement during what was supposed to be a safety assembly.

Gist told students teaching is the best job in the world. She urged them to thank their teachers after the assembly.
