New technology is giving a Tulsa woman the ability to do something she hasn't done in five years, stand and walk.
Gabrielle Platt was paralyzed from the waist down back in 2011 following a random shooting.
Friday, she tested out the EKSO bionic exoskeleton. It's a new machine used to treat stroke and spinal cord injuries.
The suit allowed Platt to walk across a gym floor and even shoot a basketball.
"It’s amazing,” Platt said. “Like, just to stand here right now and talk to you eye to eye level and look at everybody at eye levels it’s unexplainable."
The makers of the suit said it has just received FDA approval to start marketing the machine to patients.
