A Craig County jail employee was arrested on Thursday morning for second-degree rape and rape by instrumentation, the Oklahoma Bureau of Investigation says.
The OSBI says it was asked earlier this week to investigate an allegation that Shea Dillon Barr, 24, had sexual contact with a female inmate.
An OSBI agent and an investigator with the sheriff's office interviewed the inmate. The investigators then interviewed Barr, who reportedly admitted to having sexual intercourse with the jail inmate.
On Friday morning at the Craig County Sheriff’s Office, an agent arrested Barr and booked him into the Craig County jail.
According to OSBI, even though the sexual contact was consensual between adults, the fact Barr had legal custody over the inmate made the sexual contact illegal.
Barr has worked as a jail employee since August 2015.
