Tulsa Grandfather Pleads No Contest To Child Neglect Charge

A Tulsa man charged with child neglect has entered a plea of no contest. Lee Snell was charged after a fire broke out in a house where his four grandchildren were home alone. His daughter Krystal Snell Penheiro was also arrested and charged in the case.

Snell was released on his own recognizance after entering the blind plea. His sentencing is scheduled for May 9.

Firefighters believe a space heater caused the fire in the home January 15, 2016. The four children, ages 1 to 10, ran to a neighbor's for help.

Penheiro has a court date set for later this month.
