A van transporting six Tulsa Roughnecks players from Fort Lauderdale, Florida to Jacksonville was involved in an accident Wednesday morning.
Four of the six players were taken to local hospitals for treatment and three of the four were treated for minor injuries and released.
Henri Manhebo, the team’s midfielder, has required more extensive care and is still being treated for his injuries but is in stable condition.
Athletic trainer Koby Smith is staying with Manhebo at the hospital while the rest of the team continues their trip to Jacksonville.
The team has been in Florida since last Friday for preseason training.
Roughnecks statement:
"It is has been a trying day for everyone involved in our organization. We are very fortunate and grateful that the accident was not worse than it was. We appreciate everyone's concerns about the well-being of our players and ask that you keep Henri in your prayers. We hope to see him back on the field shortly."
