The Vision Tulsa campaign kicked off on Thursday.

City and county leaders met at the BOK Center to unveil the $884 million project.

Vision Tulsa is a tax renewal plan that extends the Vision 2025 tax-- meaning voters won't see an increase in taxes. And area leaders are pretty excited about their final proposal.

"So I say to all of you, go team, go!” County Commissioner Karen Keith said.
“We can get it done!"

The Vision tax renewal effort brings a broad group of improvement ideas together, an effort that's been years in the making.

It invests in three major groups: Public safety, streets/transportation and Economic development.

It is three major areas councilor Blake Ewing says take care of things the taxpayers already own.

“This package really does that, it invests in the things that are already our things and takes them to the next level, I think, across the board,” Ewing said.

Vision Tulsa has a laundry list of improvements, with city and county leaders excited about different projects.

“I think it's more exciting to move out of the stone ages when it comes to public transportation and the city of Tulsa, so we're making big strides forward with our bus service, with connectivity in and around downtown and getting people across the city north, south, east and west,” Ewing said.

Mayor Dewey Bartlett is passionate about adding more police officers and firefighters, as well as improving city roads.

“We will have enough money to have full-time crews, that all they do is maintain our streets,” Bartlett said.

County commissioner Karen Keith is excited the efforts to improve Expo Square and county parks.

Councilor GT Bynum painted a picture of a renewed Arkansas River and development based around it.

“It creates that draw that brings people back into the core part of the city,” Bynum said.

All are projects the leaders hope voters will consider as important as they do.

Voters will decide on Vision Tulsa on April 5.
