Owasso Police removed a chemical non-lethal explosive found outside a home in the Brookfield Crossing neighborhood Saturday morning.
Police Lt. Nick Boatman say residents of the home in the 11700 block of East 119th Street North heard an explosion just after 8:30 a.m., went outside and found a container on the home's porch. They then called police.
Officers and firefighters arrived to find the device as well as signs another device had already detonated.
Upon inspection, Lt. Boatman said it was determined the device contained some type of liquid. He says it appeared the liquid in the second device "had expanded rapidly, causing its contents to spatter."
Lt. Boatman said both devices appeared to be not your traditional explosives and were non-lethal in nature.
He said the placement of the two devices leads them to believe it was either a prank or they were being used to intimidate someone at the home.
The fire department washed down the porch, in case the liquid was either corrosive or a bio-hazard.
Police said no one was injured.
