Tulsa Police Make Arrest In Death Of 2-Year-Old Boy

Tulsa police arrested a man in the death of a 2-year-old boy.

Police said they arrested the mother’s boyfriend, Branden Taylor, for the death of her son, Michael Rigney.

Detectives said the toddler’s mother called 911 Tuesday afternoon and told dispatchers her son was dead. Detectives said they questioned both the mother and Taylor for several hours before releasing them. They arrested Taylor on Wednesday.

When asked if he killed the boy, his answer was a simple no.

Katiera: "Why are the police having you in handcuffs if you didn't do anything?
Taylor: “Ask them."

Police said the toddler had bruises on his face and body. The medical examiner will determine how he died.

Jail records show Taylor is being held on one count of child neglect and one count of child abuse. He’s being held on a $100,000 bond.
