OCC spokesman Matt Skinner said the commission started notifying wastewater injection well operators on Thursday of a plan of action for the region.
Skinner said more than 200 disposal wells will be affected.
He says the plan includes a large-scale regional reduction in oil and natural gas wastewater disposal for about a 5,000-square mile area of western Oklahoma, including the area where Saturday's earthquake hit.
Details of the plan will be announced on February 16.
