Tulsa Police used stop sticks and pepper balls to arrest a man who they said ran from officers Thursday evening.
Officers said they got a call at about 6:45 p.m. about a suspicious vehicle in the 2100 block of South 104th East Avenue. As police arrived, they said the driver flashed his lights and then sped away.
Police chased the car to the 1100 block of South Mingo where officers had deployed stop sticks, flattening all four tires. The car eventually stopped at a QuikTrip in the 10300 block of East 11th Street.
When the driver, identified as Derrick Ross, 42, refused to get out of the car, police fired pepper balls. That got him out of the car.
Ross was first taken to a Tulsa hospital then booked into the Tulsa County jail on complaints of eluding, possession of marijuana and resisting police.
Jail records show Derrick Ross has a court appearance set for February 19.
