The Oklahoma Highway Patrol has released the name of a woman killed while walking on the Turner Turnpike in Sapulpa.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. Saturday near the interchange with the Creek Turnpike.

Troopers say Connie Benevides became upset and jumped from a 2002 Dodge Caravan driven by Christopher Redding. The 56-year-old woman died of massive injuries after being struck by multiple vehicles, a collision report states.

Troopers told News On 6 Redding, also 56, called police from his Tulsa home.

OHP continues to investigate the fatality incident and Redding's condition at the time it happened. We're told the Creek County District Attorney's office will decide if any charges will be filed.
