A doodle by a fifth grader at Owasso's Barnes Elementary is one of 53 selected in Google's eighth annual Doodle 4 Google competition.

Kataleena Bandasack's doodle "Creativity" was one of 100,000 submitted by K-12 students across the U.S.

Bandasack's doodle will now compete in a public vote that will determine the five national finalists.

Voting is open until February 22 at Google Doodle vote.

Kataleena says the G is a cat, because she loves cats.  The O's are glasses because she loves to read.  The G is a glue gun because she says she is crafty. The L is a pencil because she loves to draw and the E is colored pencils because she loves to color.

Google will announce five national finalists and one of them as the national winner on March 21 and the winner’s doodle will go live on Google.com that day.

The winning student and national finalists will also travel to Mountain View, California, to meet with Google’s team of professional doodlers and see what it takes to launch a Doodle on the Google homepage.
