What makes Oklahoma special? We think it’s got to be the people. And we meet some amazing people in our stories. Here’s another example.

COMPASSION.

Having battled a rare disorder her whole life, six-year-old Ryan Scroggin certainly deserved a big gift for her birthday. But instead of thinking about herself, she could think only of others.

She came up with simple plan that would help other kids going through similar situations. Ryan remembered how the gift of a stuffed animal took away her fear during one of her hospital stays and she wanted to pass that gift along. So she asked for stuffed animals that she could then share. Her request spread and people from everywhere donated to her cause.

Ryan knows the power a toy can have on a sick child. But never did she dream of the power her request could have on lives across the country.
