Arts Alliance Tulsa is only a few months old, but they are setting big goals for their first fundraising campaign.
The group launched a campaign to raise $2 million in the next 120 days. The money will be used to promote the arts in Tulsa.
The Alliance is made up of 39 separate arts organizations, and they say this is the first unified effort to promote the arts in Tulsa. Supporters also say the arts provide a major benefit to the city.
Phil Lakin with the Tulsa Community Foundation said, "This is not a handout to the arts organizations, they contribute right back into our economy - not just from the financial side, but also from a quality of life side."
Arts Alliance says the money would be used to create an additional 116 full-time jobs.
