Sand Springs Students Frightened, Bruised After Close Call With Trailer

Students from Limestone Elementary were frightened and a little banged up after a trailer nearly crashed into their bus Friday afternoon.

Officials say the bus was heading west on 51st Street when a trailer came unhitched from an eastbound truck and crossed into their lane.

They said the bus driver had to stop quickly, causing the children inside to fall out of their seats.

Many were shaken up, but no one was taken to the hospital. Some were treated for bumps and bruises.

"A lot of people started crying. Before that, my friend, he his head, like, really hard," one student said.

Police said the driver of the truck left the scene and they searching for that person.
