Donald Trump's campaign rolled through Tulsa on Wednesday and the Republican Presidential frontrunner rallied thousands of his supporters and attacked his rivals in a speech at ORU’s Mabee Center.

Before Trump took to the podium, former Republican Vice-Presidential nominee Sarah Palin took the stage to whip up the crowd.

Palin first endorsed Trump on Tuesday in Iowa.

Just outside the Mabee Center, protesters held up signs.

Most of them were outside, but a few got inside to make some noise during Trump's speech.

A group of protestors outside the Mabee Center called Donald Trump "Mr. Hate" - with signs that compared him to Hitler and complained about his statements on immigration.

It was a small but noisy crowd for the most part.

On the edge, we found Michael Loudermilk quietly making signs.

He said he his decision to protest came at the last minute.

“He spreads hate. He spreads anger,” Loudermilk said. “Everything that comes out of his mouth is just volatile.”

The underlying complaint of every protester we spoke with was what Trump is saying - and how he says it.

“I think he's an angry man and he's full of hate and he spreads it, so we're not the one spreading the hate; it stems from him,” Gayla Gower said.

“His anger is causing all us from different walks of life to unite and say the only thing we don't want is the hate that's coming from one person,” Hailey Myers Brannon said.

They were able to make their point to people driving by, including Trump himself. The motorcade went right by them.

A handful of protesters made it inside where they waited to disrupt the speech.

Trump: “Who was that, get him outta here. Get him outta here. (cheering) Get him outta here."

Trump: "I love you. I even love the protesters. There aren't too many."

There weren't many protesters -- maybe 40 people in all -- but they were willing to stand in the cold for hours to try and make a point.

“My faith wouldn't allow me not to come and speak up for the voiceless people that Trump has spoken against,” Michele Palmer said.

The police were keeping an eye on the protesters but didn't do anything to stop their right to assemble.
